First it was 'News and Views' which was forced out of airing their evening news channel and now 'Aaj Ki Awaj seems to be the next victim of corrupt goons who are running Arunachal Pradesh like their personal fiefdom, amassing wealth with both hands.
 World over, good and fair governance is judged by the measure of freedom the press enjoys. Third estate is the society's conscience keeper and imposition of restriction on press is the first sign of corrupt and tyrant government. This is the way by which tyrants keep their subjects blind and subjugated.
  When I saw this news article of The Hindu, shiver ran down my spines, thinking of the only state in India which muzzles any independent opions of its citizen and where freedom of expression is severely restricted by corrupt and immature government. Ignorant leading ignorant will lead to doom and destruction.

Arunachal ban on news programme

Itanagar: The District Magistrate of Papum Pare district in Arunachal Pradesh banned the airing of news programme by ‘Aaj Ki Awaj’ by cable operators for allegedly violating rules.

The District Magistrate in exercise of his power conferred under section 19 of the Cable TV Act, 1995 prohibited all cable operators from transmitting or re-transmitting the news programme by ‘Aaj Ki Awaj’ with immediate effect, official sources said on Saturday. In an order, the District Magistrate said ‘Aaj Ki Awaj’ has been airing programme without registering with the authorities and alleged the programmes are defamatory and suggestive innuendoes and half truths.

‘Aaj Ki Awaz’ has been covering news from all over Arunachal Pradesh and providing them to cable operators for circulation daily for the past few years after Doordarshan station at Itanagar discontinued airing privately produced news programme. — PTI

never came across aaj ki awaaj though. i think the people have come up with their own way of  broadcasting news/informations. What about the content. do they have a good edited version or a very raw type?

'freedom of press' is just another pillar in the democracy.The government in arunachal pradesh is just another bogus element of extended communism in disguise.The tentacles of evil politicians at centre has finally rooted in the backyard of our home state.To hell with the dynasty policy makers at the centre. Our time has come This move by deputy magistrate will certainly provoke intellectuals and educated society of our state to initiate a backlash to  day or tomorrow. I can no longer imagine of a state without this liberty and freedom of press. Free speech is the bloodline of democracy.
